Buggy Protection

Guests may elect to purchase Buggy Protection for $10 per night, which provides cover for accidental damage to the Golf Buggy during the stay.

This protection is void if damage is assessed as deliberate or if any of the conditions or regulations below are breached.

Buggy Conditions

A four-seat Golf Buggy is provided as a complimentary inclusion for your personal use during your stay.

All drivers must submit valid driver’s licence details prior to use. Only registered drivers are authorised to operate the buggy.

The buggy is licensed to carry no more than four passengers.

Guests are personally liable for any damage or loss involving the buggy, other vehicles, persons, or property, regardless of whether they were present at the time of the incident.

Guests who have purchased Buggy Protection are covered for accidental damage provided no terms or rules have been breached.

All accidents or incidents must be reported immediately to your On-Island Representative and Hamilton Island Security.

Failure to charge the buggy overnight may result in immobilisation and an $85 towing fee.

The buggy must complete a full eight-hour charge cycle before it can be operated again.

A replacement buggy is not provided during charging periods.

Guests are responsible for ensuring the buggy is correctly plugged in and charging; assistance is available from your On-Island Representative.

A replacement buggy will only be issued for repair-related downtime when Buggy Protection has been purchased and all Hamilton Island rules and conditions have been adhered to.

Hamilton Island Buggy Rules & Regulations

All drivers must hold a current, valid driver’s licence recognised in Queensland.

Learner licence holders are not permitted to operate the vehicle.

Queensland road laws apply, including restrictions related to alcohol consumption.

Queensland Police enforce all relevant state and Commonwealth legislation.

Children are strictly prohibited from driving, steering, sitting on the driver’s lap, or interacting with any operating pedals.

Buggy operation is not permitted between 1:00am and 5:30am.

The buggy must never be driven in neutral.

Drivers must not consume alcohol while operating the buggy.

Mobile phones must not be used while driving.

Any breach of these rules may result in confiscation of the buggy and potential referral to the Queensland Police Service.

Whitsunday74 provides the Golf Buggy as an amenity for guest use; however, all use of the buggy is entirely at the guest’s own risk. To the maximum extent permitted under Australian Consumer Law and applicable Queensland legislation:

Whitsunday74, its owners, directors, employees and representatives accept no liability for any injury, loss, damage, or property harm arising from or in connection with the guest’s operation or misuse of the buggy, whether caused by negligence, accident, breach of rules, or any other act or omission.

Guests acknowledge that by operating the buggy, they assume full responsibility for their actions and agree to indemnify and hold harmless Whitsunday74 from all claims, costs, damages, and liabilities arising from their use of the vehicle.
